Until 9/25/2026: View "Impressions and Arabesques" by Maggie Capettini at ClaySpace Gallery in Lisle, IL

Taking a sculpture class with her daughter on how to make animals lit a fire, literally, in Maggie, who discovered a new passion for herself by working with clay. Her gallery display shows not only her 2D work but also her new 3D pieces. Be sure to stop by the gallery before the show ends on September 25, 2026. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10-4; and Saturday, 10-2.
MAGGIE'S ARTIST STATEMENT:
"I am a multidisciplinary artist whose work reflects meditative moments of connection with nature, psychological and spiritual theories of mind, and my experience living with multiple chronic illnesses.
As a Midwest artist, my nature-based art is influenced by seasonal cycles. My all prima oil paintings, done in one session and often on location, are a testament to the depth and abundance of nature, while my ceramic sculptures mimic the organic lines found in the natural world. A lifelong interest in psychology and spirituality leads me to explore the process of interpreting and relating to memories and emotions through richly layered and textural abstract oil paintings. In my "complex patient" series, the medium is determined by the message as I document my health journey and highlight the inefficiencies of healthcare in the United States." ###
