Becky is pictured in her booth at the Celebration of Fine Arts held annually in Scottsdale, AZ from January through the end of March. This year was her 8th time participating in this well-respected, juried show. Scroll down to view more of her artwork...
Becky's painting journey began with watercolors. The expressive way the paint could be transparent or opaque captured her spirit, although she wanted to paint larger pieces. In her early twenties, she developed her own oil technique slipping and spreading paint across a canvas with large spatulas and brushes trying to keep the paint loose and raw.
Currently, she is still trying to master her own process and hopes to "suggest" a subject while focusing on the atmosphere and light surrounding it.
"I paint light and atmosphere before I begin to paint the subject of a painting. This gives my work an abstract quality that connects with viewers on an emotional level," Becky explains.
She wants to leave the details of each image untold so the viewer can add to the painting's story. Her atmospheric landscapes and abstracts are timeless and are collected nationwide.
With a background in interior design, Becky understands color and balance. She strives to make meaningful art that people will want to live with or work alongside daily. Custom projects are her specialty and enjoys working directly with clients. Every piece is an original work, with no available reproductions.
