Jeri Davis poses at Town House Books & Cafe, 105 N. Second Avenue, in St. Charles, IL with her two, light-hearted coloring books for adults undergoing cancer care.

Press Release / August 12, 2025...

.

Humor was the best way to derail all the dark thoughts circling their wagons around Wheaton resident, Jeri Davis, five years ago when a cancer diagnosis t-boned her life.

Eight days after her emergency hospitalization in September 2020, she was discharged with a diagnosis of Stage 2 non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, one round of emergency chemo under her belt, a good prognosis, and enough topical humor to fill a coloring book, or two, about cancer.

Jeri's oncology team encouraged her to write down her humorous observations stating that no one talked about cancer in this way. Fast-forward several months and Jeri, a former advertising executive, called upon friends and former colleagues to help illustrate her comments.

Designed for adults, she chose the coloring book format knowing that coloring can help provide focus and relaxation. The end result came together in this design as postcards from personal experience during her cancer and subsequent chemo treatments.

And while they do not make fun of cancer, they do make light of Jeri's experiences which other cancer patients will find relatable.

The coloring books, “Greetings from Chemo Country” and “Welcome to Six Chemos”, are shared with cancer patients at Northwestern University Health System. They are also available locally at TownHouse Books, 105 N. Second Avenue, at 1-630-584-8600 or by visiting Amazon.com at $10 each. ###
