Jeffrey Equality Brooks' Newly Expanded Home Studio is a Dream Come True...Take a peek

Writer's picture: Lynne KorneckiLynne Kornecki

Jeff poses in his new workspace where he toasted its near completion over the weekend of February 1-2, 2025 sharing not only his studio's expansion but also displaying some of his art never before seen in Illinois. Scroll down for more views of his studio...

Multi-talented, Montgomery, IL artist, Jeffrey Equality Brooks, is not only an incredible creative, but also a pretty outstanding handyman. Designing and building the majority of his new studio was a 15-month project that expanded his workspace by another 750 square feet.

With a soaring ceiling, walls of windows, 11 skylights, radiant floor heating, a wall of closet space, and a “smart” electrical response system--all he needs to say is, “turn on studio” and on they go! Although he still has some finishing to do, this past weekend’s grand opening celebration gave his art friends a peek at what this new dream studio looks like, and it’s a doozy. Great job, Jeffrey!

For those not familiar with his art, he states:

“I have an MFA from UIC with a focus area of photo, film and electronic media. I’m a full-time artist and I combine painting and photography with elements of graphic arts, collage and stenciling…All graphics and images I use are created by me. They use photos of real people that I know. My process is heavily layered starting with cut stencils and thickly sprayed automotive paint, and expanded with metalflake, broken glass, silica, gold leaf, resin, transparent vinyl and/or enamel.”

He only offers original paintings because his intricate and often sparkling work simply cannot be duplicated to its fullest effect as a print. Be sure to click the information below to see more of his outstanding art.
