"A Flair for Painting" is presented b four dynamic artists -- Darlene Nawrocki, Deann Alleman, Carol Kazwick and Kathy Furgason. The Holmstad Town Center Gallery is located at 700 W. ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES:
All four artists share an interest in the enjoyment and creation of art using the oil pastel medium. They became artist friends while taking oil pastel classes together. Although they share oil pastel medium, their styles are unique and dynamic.
Darlene Nawrocki lives in Lisle and is a former graphic artist who for the past several years has enjoyed exploring painting in oil pastel.
Deann Alleman, a resident at the Holmstad, finds inspiration in the natural world to create her quiet and somewhat subtle impressionistic paintings.
Carol Kazwick, from Downers Grove, often uses hand-made paper and other unique backgrounds for her paintings reflecting the beauty and history of the Midwest.
Kathy Furgason, from Aurora, began oil pastel painting in retirement. Inspired by nature, she enjoys painting landscapes and flowers or scenes that evoke memories and emotions.
