Sue's obituary (Scroll down to see some of her fused glass work)

Susan (Sue) Tripp, 67, from Warrenville IL, passed away peacefully at home with her husband and family by her side on March 25, 2024 after a short bout with an aggressive cancer.

Sue received her mechanical engineering degree from University of Illinois and later earned a master’s degree in computer science from Northwestern University. She worked for many years as a computer software engineer at Lucent Technologies (formally Bell Labs).

Sue loved creating artwork, particularly fused glass, and collaborating with other artists at Gallery 200. She was active and loved walking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Sue was the beloved wife of Russ Tripp; loving mother of Jamie (Jared) Thomure and Joelle (Jim) Kurczodyna; proud grandmother of Harper, Eloise, Piper, Abram, Madison, August, Clara, and grandbaby #8 due in October; beloved sister of John (Elissa) Kuhr.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s honor can be made to Gallery 200 in West Chicago, the non-profit artist Co-op that Sue was passionately involved with.

Service was held on Sunday, April 21 (Sue’s Birthday) at 3:00pm at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville. Dinner at the church to followed.
