PRESS RELEASE....

The Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) proudly presents The Natural World, a juried nature-themed exhibition on view August 4-September 20 at the historic Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oakbrook IL.  An Opening Reception, free and open to the public, will be hosted at the Mayslake Peabody Estate on Wednesday, August 13, from 6-8pm.

The Natural World is a compelling showcase that invites viewers to reconnect with the elemental forces around us. The exhibition explores the intricate patterns, quiet poetry, and raw power of nature through the lens of a variety of visual languages.

Nearly 70 pieecs of fine art focusing on Nature created by CAVA artists were juried into the exhibition by two jurors, Dan Addington of Addington Gallery and Deborah Venezia of Arts DuPage. The exhibition features realistic, impressionistic, and abstract landscapes, seascapes, still life, leaves, flowers, skies, and animals through oil & acrylic painting, photography, encaustic, stained glass, fiber art, drawing, etching, recycled plastic, woven paper, and more. Through such diverse media and personal interpretations, the artists remind us of our deep, often spiritual connection to the natural world and the urgency of preserving it.

The Mayslake Peabody Estate is located at 1717 31st Street in Oak Brook IL and is open Monday-Friday 12-3pm, Saturdays 9am-1pm, closed Sundays. All of the art is available for purchase.

CAVA is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1988 to serve artists aged 50+.
