The Hanover Townership Senior Center is definitely NOT YOUR GRANDMA'S senior center. This hopping place features exciting creative outlets for active seniors living in and around Bartlett, IL. Its busy art department, with two instructors, offers a full range of stimulating classes from which to choose. These include ceramics and collage to acrylics, alcohol inks, watercolor, jewelry making and other crafts. All classes are extremely affordable and include supplies or materials fostering artistic growth for both beginners and advanced. There's even a diamond-dot painting class headed by Steve Tucky. His students will be showing a vast variety of creation from pictures to mirrors, boxes, serving plates and other embellished items.
The upcoming artist reception includes a cash wine bar, catered treat table, live music and a chance to mix/mingle with the artists!
Visual Arts instructor, Linda Kay, takes a few moments from setting up the upcoming art show to pose next to a few featured items.
Believe it or not, this custom portrait of Mimi Krall (art instructor for ceramics) on the Left and Linda on the Right was created by a few of the Senior Center's art students using diamond dots!
