11/7/2025 Reception for Solo Exhibit, MOMENTS IN TIME at Elmhurst Art Museum by Oil Painter, Fred Moss

The Elmhurst Art Museum is pleased to present Moments in Time: A Visual Voyage, a solo exhibition of oil paintings by artist Fred Moss, on view from November 1 through November 28, 2025. The show invites visitors to experience the quiet beauty of landscapes, gardens, and nature through impressionistic works inspired by Moss’s travels and moments of reflection. Featuring scenes from the Italian countryside, U.S. National Parks, and botanical gardens, the exhibition captures the emotion and atmosphere of places that stir the soul.

With bold brushwork and nuanced color, Moss brings to life fleeting moments in nature—those rare times when light, land, and memory converge. A free public artist reception will be held on Friday, November 7, from 7–9 PM, where attendees can meet the artist and explore the collection. Select works will be available for purchase, along with a curated collection of archival giclée prints and fine art notecards, just in time for the holiday gift season.

“Each painting in this show is a moment I didn’t want to forget,” says Moss. “Whether it’s a quiet canal in Italy or the warm sunlight across a garden in bloom, I hope viewers will feel transported—visually and emotionally.”

About the Artist: He is an American artist best recognized for his representational landscape paintings. His paintings depict cityscapes and natural locations. Growing up in Chicago he was influenced by going to the Chicago Art Institute and seeing the Impressionism exhibits. Later he was inspired by his travels to his grandparents' native country Italy and scenic locations. ###
