If you're looking for a quick get-away that focuses on art, don't miss the opportunity to travel up to Cedarburg, WI. Not only does the town have a vintage art museum, but the town itself is definitely worth visiting with inviting boutiques and unique little eateries.

Located in the heart of historic Cedarburg, the Cedarburg Art Museum celebrates and preserves Wisconsin’s art, history, and culture through rotating exhibitions, educational programs, community events, and a landmark publication on Wisconsin art history.

The museum is housed in the stately 1898 Wittenberg-Jochem Mansion at W63N675 Washington Avenue and offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience art and history in one of Cedarburg’s most distinctive historic homes.

Latest exhibit celebrates the artistry of the late graphic designer and artist, Richard J. Kaneiss. He had a 30-plus year as a newspaper illustrator for the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel. During his tenure at these newspapers, he created portraits of artists, entertainers and politicians working his way up the corporate ladder to an art directorship.

The current exhibit of his work displays 24 pieces.
