Dear Readers,
MEMORIAL DAY kicks off the summer season in full force, and I hope all of our U.S. readers found a meaningful way to mark the day. We, at Art BEAT Buzz, gathered for the Naperville, IL parade followed by the solemn veterans' programming at the Naperville Community Concert Center band shell where we were deeply touched by the ceremonies. See below for a few photos from this year's parade...We'll be back with a full roster of art stories next week!

Parade leads off with the veteran members of the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 in Naperville.

Veterans drove a bevy of antique cars such as this one with USMC Vietnam vet, Ted Mazurski.

Loved this turquoise car with the whitewall tires chauffeuring Vietnam vet, Greg Baker.

Recruits from Great Lakes Naval training.

Scouts carried flags listing the names of Naperville residents lost in wars.

And lastly, remembering and honoring the GOLD STAR FAMILIES whose loved ones gave the ultimate sacrifice.
TO ALL OUR VETERAN READERS, WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
