Last Days! Hokusai Exhibit Closes 9/21/25 at College of DuPage's Cleve Carney Art Gallery; Ticket Prices Reduced

See this iconic Hokusai original -- UNDER THE WAVE OFF KANAGAWA -- at the Cleve Carney art gallery located inside the MAC on the College of DuPage campus in Glen Ellyn, IL


Widely considered as one of the most recognizable images in the world (shown above), the collection features Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic masterpiece, “Under the Wave off Kanagawa,” along with eight more of his original works. There are also 15 pieces by Utagawa Hiroshige, particularly known for the “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo” series, along with works by 15 of their contemporaries.


EXHIBITION DETAILS

The “Hokusai & Ukiyo-e: The Floating World” exhibition authentically brings Japan's Shogun Era to life through meticulously crafted recreations, immersive experiences, hands-on activities and historical exhibits across 10,000 sq.ft. 

 

In addition to a more than 60-piece collection of woodblock prints, and original 17th century works, including one of the world's most recognizable images, The Great Wave, by Hokusai, immersive exhibits include: a black-and-white comic book takeover, a kid's area with calligraphy and origami activities, stepping into an Edo-Era streetscape, DIY digital art and much more. 

 

TICKET INFORMATION

For final weeks, admission tickets are now $12 Tuesday – Friday and $22 Saturday and Sunday
