During the month of March, Gallery Seven, 200 W. 8th Street in Lockport, IL is proud to present the wide range of painting styles by Kristin Murphy. Guided by her belief that this exhibition is about honoring the path that shaped her.

This exhibition brings together years of exploration across watercolor, soft pastel, acrylic, and mixed media — ranging from realism to abstraction. Some pieces began in careful observation. Others emerged through intuition and layered experimentation.

Kristin's creative journey has never followed a straight line, and this exhibition honors the path that continues to shape her — and the quiet persistence required to follow it.

KRISTIN MURPHY: “Discovering the Way” represents a journey for me. The paintings in this exhibit span different mediums, subjects, and moments in my creative path. Some pieces are rooted in direct observation of landscapes and florals, while others come from a more intuitive place. Together, they reflect my ongoing exploration of color, light, and the essence of a place. My hope is that when visitors spend time with the work, they find a moment to pause and experience a sense of peace, beauty, or joy, feelings I experienced while creating each piece."

Kristin Murphy is a pattern designer, illustrator, and artist who is inspired by nature, color, travel, and the quiet magic of the creative process. Based in her studio in Frankfort, Illinois, Kristin loves exploring artistic mediums from traditional painting to digital design, always looking to capture wonder-filled moments.
