Elgin's Side Street Studio Issues Artist Call for ESPERANZA

ESPERANZA translated from Spanish to English means hope or expectation.

In observance of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept.15 - Oct. 15), Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in Elgin, IL seeks entries for Esperanza. This is an open call for art that celebrates stories of hope and of perseverance in the face of adversity and of struggle across time and place. These can be forward-looking, inspirational and personal, or be past representations of courage and resilience and dreams yet to be realized.

The exhibit is open to the public September 16 - October 2 with an opening reception Friday, September 16, 2022 from 6-9pm.

Submission Requirements:

  • Submissions must be received by Thursday September 1, 2022 at midnight - late submissions will NOT be accepted.

  • Submissions are limited to 3 works, including sets or triptychs. There is a $5 fee required for submission. Side Street Studio Arts Members are exempt from the submission fee. Interested in becoming a SSSA member? More info available here: https://www.sidestreetstudioarts.org/membership
