Cheryl Holz's Solo Show Embraces Nature's Beauty through Mixed Media at Water Street Studios

Cheryl Holz poses in front of her mixed media piece, "Springbrook Summer Solstice Sunrise: Walking the Prairie" part of her FOREST FORAGER solo show open now until September 4, 2022 at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water Street, in Batavia, IL. Scroll down to view more of her work...

A celebratory opening reception was well attended Friday evening, August 12, toasting not only Cheryl's solo show, but also "Aurora All Stars" with a plethora of art and artists delighting in discussing their work with an appreciative group.

Cheryl, who feels great affinity with nature because of her rural upbringing, writes this about her summer solstice piece pictured above: "This piece started with a very early morning walk at the Springbrook Prairie just before the summer solstice. At first, I was disappointed at the very heavy mist that lingered over everything thinking it would obscure my photos. But instead, it gave them a rather ethereal quality. After editing and having them archivally printed, this misty path photo became the focal point of a piece celebrating the prairie in all its summer glory."
