Bloomingdale Arts Association Announces 2022 Scholarship Award Winner from Winfield, IL

The scholarship award will be presented to Allison Rivera of Winfield, IL at the BAA 2022 Spring Exhibit Artist Reception on Sunday, May 1, from 2-4 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Park District Museum, 108 S. Bloomingdale Road in Bloomingdale IL 60108. PUBLIC WELCOME

The Bloomingdale Artists Association (BAA) is pleased to announce the winner of its 2022 $1,000 scholarship. Allison Rivera of Winfield IL who plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and will attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago this coming Fall.

Danielle Wennmaker, her painting instructor at Wheaton North High School, along with other teachers from her art-related classes, concur that Allison has a bright future in the field of art. Her leadership, kindness and commitment to using art to make a positive difference at Wheaton North is exemplified by her participation in the creation of artwork dedicated to the school custodians who helped make in-person school possible.

The scholarship is co-funded by the BAA and Masterpiece Framing of Bloomingdale IL.

Member exhibit runs from April 9 through May 7 and is open to the public. The public is also invited to attend the reception, meet Allison, along with BAA member artists, and enjoy music and light refreshments.

The BAA welcomes new members, beginner to experienced artists, or anyone just curious about art. Applications are available at the exhibit and reception. Membership dues for the calendar year of September 2022 through May 2023 are $30 per person.
