Description: Abstract & Intuitive -- Layers of background drive her foreground
Inspired by Nature: “Walking or hiking is very therapeutic for me,” Beata says. “It clears the mind to find peace in nature. Then when I finally sit down to paint it all comes out.”
Encouraging Words: “When first starting out, don’t focus on that one critical comment – let it go and keep on producing.”
Although Beata always drew from early childhood, she didn’t actually start painting until about four years ago. She shared a fond childhood memory illustrating her love for art at an early age.
“It was a cold day outside, I was only four years old and at home with my mom while she talked on the phone,” she recalls. “She was doodling as she talked, and I drew exactly what she was drawing. When my mom saw how I had copied her work she immediately exclaimed to her friend, ‘Oh my gosh! You should see what she’s doing!’
From then on, her mother encouraged her daughter’s obvious art talent with art books and supplies. Fast forward to a grown-up Beata and art had to go on the back burner as family and a full-time job took precedence over her time.
Now that Beata has returned once more to her creativity, she describes herself as a self-taught painter. She enjoys following her intuition without pre-planning her projects while also releasing any need for control. Trusting her gut, she says, yields a more impressionistic result to her work which she enhances with those irresistible touches of nature.
