Free to members or $10 for non-members, Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) is holding its annual learning symposium at the Evanston Art Center, 1717 Central Street in Evanston, IL from 12 Noon to 3 PM on Sunday, 5/25/25.

WHAT IS CAVA?

CAVA is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1988 to serve artists aged 50+ with exhibits, education and fellowship. Their over 300 members throughout Chicagoland can take advantage of annual exhibit opportunities in such notable venues as the Chicago Cultural Center, Evanston Art Center, Bridgeport Art Center, Beverly Arts Center, and the Leslie Wolfe Gallery in Old Town.

Creating art can be a solitary occupation—CAVA organizes and presents events for older artists to come together through a variety of socials that include exhibitions, salons, member luncheons, workshops, annual Symposium, and special events.

This year's Symposium speakers include Sienna Linda from the Moody Institute Media Lab speaking on the "Effects of Artificial Intelligence on Visual Arts & Cultures".

And, Lynne Kornecki, Art BEAT Buzz's founder and publisher, will lead a workshop on "Marketing Ideas and Inspiration for Artists".

Additionally, the CAVA Annual symposium features a discussion on future programming and plans with presentation by the chairs of their Finance, Events, Membership, and Marketing committees.
