Guests will also enjoy free refreshments, beverages including wine, and give aways.
Artist, Jan Schrader, poses at the refreshment table during October's First Friday event at IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK.
Jan has been the solo visual artist at the gallery for both October and November. His creative expression is inspired by listening to jazz while he paints in his studio. Jan, a serious jazz afficionado, also has a selection of coordinating merchandise featuring his artwork – perfect for holiday gifting.
"It's very humbling for me to be the featured solo artist with my work filling an entire gallery," Jan shares. "I hope the art I create brings joy to others especially when they find a piece that personally resonates with them. I couldn't ask for anything more rewarding than that."
Several dozen of Jan's art pieces fill the gallery along with coordinating merchandise.
Musician, Dave Miller, who will be playing throughout Friday evening at the gallery for Jan’s show, has been a prominent fixture on the Chicago and New York jazz scene for nearly two decades. His last record, Old Door Phantoms (ears&eyes Records), hailed by Audiophile Audition as “the multi-genre instrumental album of the year”, as well as “a complex and beautiful piece of work” by New City, explored themes of nature, spirituality, and the human condition.
Don't miss this extraordinary evening, free and open to the public.
